Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This policy explains what personal information Trakkrr collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. It covers our website, our asset-tracking platform, and the hardware we supply and fit.

Who we are

Trakkrr is an asset-tracking and telemetry platform. In this policy, "Trakkrr", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Trakkrr Systems (ABN 71 624 068 591).

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and this policy explains how we handle personal information. Where we hold personal information that a business customer has collected (for example, information about their staff or drivers), we generally handle it on that customer's behalf under our agreement with them - see the section below.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at info@trakkrr.com.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to:

  • Website visitors - anyone who browses trakkrr.com or contacts us through it.
  • Platform users - people with an account on the Trakkrr platform (https://app.trakkrr.com).
  • People connected to tracked assets - where information from a tracked asset (for example its location) relates to an identifiable person, such as a driver or operator.

What personal information we collect

We collect the following kinds of personal information:

Enquiry data
When you use our contact form we collect your name and email address, and - if you provide them - your company, phone number, what you want to track, and the contents of your message.
Account data
If you hold a platform account, we collect your name, work email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and your role or permissions within your organisation's account.
Asset & telemetry data
Data collected by Trakkrr-supplied hardware fitted to your assets - for example GPS location, movement and journeys, usage and engine hours, and sensor or condition readings. Where this data can be linked to an identifiable person (such as the operator of a vehicle), it is personal information.
Technical data
When you interact with our website or platform, our servers automatically record limited technical information such as your IP address, request timestamps, and basic device/browser information in server logs. We use this only to operate the service securely - not to track you across the web.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health, biometric, or membership information) and ask that you do not submit it through our forms. Where it is lawful and practical, you can deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, though we usually need your contact details to respond to an enquiry or provide the Service.

Cookies and analytics

Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics (for example Google Analytics) on it. We do not build advertising profiles or sell your information.

The signed-in Trakkrr platform may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies that are essential to keep you logged in and to keep your session secure. These cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality. Because we use no non-essential cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

Why we collect, hold, use and disclose your information

We collect and use personal information only for purposes connected with running Trakkrr, including to:

  • respond to your enquiries and provide information you ask for;
  • set up and administer platform accounts;
  • provide the platform, the supplied hardware, and the asset-tracking and telemetry services you or your organisation sign up for;
  • keep the Service secure, diagnose faults, and prevent misuse;
  • manage billing and keep our business records; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising. If we ever send you service updates or marketing, we will do so in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and give you an easy way to opt out.

Who we disclose your information to

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Trakkrr, and only as far as they need it. These currently include:

  • SMTP2GO - to deliver the emails generated by our contact form.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider - [hosting provider name], which hosts our website and platform.
  • Our connectivity / hardware partners - [mobile network / SIM provider], which carry telemetry data from your assets to the platform.

Each of these handles your information under a contract that requires them to protect it. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia (for example, in [the United States]). Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How long we keep your information

  • Enquiry data - kept for up to [24 months] after our last contact, then deleted, unless it becomes part of a customer relationship.
  • Account data - kept for as long as the account is active, and for [a reasonable period] afterwards to handle wind-down, billing and legal needs.
  • Asset & telemetry data - retained for the period agreed with your organisation, then deleted or de-identified.
  • Server logs - kept for a short period (typically [90 days]) for security and troubleshooting.

When we no longer need personal information for any purpose permitted under the APPs, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, restricted access on a need-to-know basis, and secure storage of credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risks low. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Information we handle for business customers

Where a business customer uses Trakkrr to track its own assets and people, that customer decides what information is collected and why, and we handle that information on the customer's behalf under our agreement with them. If you are an employee or contractor of one of our customers and have questions about your information, please contact that organisation in the first instance.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. Email info@trakkrr.com. We will respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days). There is normally no charge to make a request, though in some cases we may charge a reasonable cost for giving access. If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why.

You can also opt out of any marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

Children

Trakkrr is a business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let affected users know.

How to contact us or make a complaint

For any privacy question, or to make a complaint about how we have handled your information, contact us first at info@trakkrr.com or write to us at [business address] so we can try to resolve it.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
